The Adidas Stan Smith Cheap has taken a back seat to the Superstar 80s as this year’s retro three stripe model of choice, but that doesn’t mean that the tennis classic has showed any signs of slowing down. The latest look pairs a clean white leather upper complete with black Stan Smith tongue branding with a classic gum outsole.
Kazuki Kuraishi is at it yet again with adidas Originals for another set of 84-Lab collabs this spring. Within the new collection is this fresh take on the Adidas Stan Smith Discount, featured in premium grey suede with the heel tabs in the traditional shade of green. An off-white outsole adds a vintge aesthetic, while dual Stan Smith and 84-Lab logos on each tongue and leather inner linings finish off the high-quality collab.
After a popular collection of high-end editions of the Adidas Stan Smith For Sale by Raf Simons in 2014, the high-fashion designer and frequent adidas Originals collaborator is back again with another set for Spring 2015. Adding to his monotone colorways of the Adidas Stan Smith Men like the all-orange pair from last year, this new four colorway set features the iconic tennis silhouette constructed in premium leather with grey, pink, sky blue, and vibrant red hues from top to bottom, each accented with white branding and perforated “R” logos in place of the Three Stripes. Additionally, “Raf Simons” is found embossed at each heel.
The Adidas Stan Smith Women was featured in pretty much every shade in Pantone’s archives when Pharrell Williams teamed up with the three stripe’s lifestyle brand. This “Frozen Green” colorway is similar to one found in that capsule collection, as the adidas Originals Stan Smith showcases a minty fresh shade on a leather base for a premium aesthetic. An off-white only helps matters when found on the outsole and classic leather heel panel.
