Two of the skateboarding world’s enduring brands come together on this latest Off the Wall collaboration. The Independent x Vans SK8-HI For Sale applies the famed cross logo from one of the longest running truck brands to the side panels of the original hightop skate shoe. The choice of model here was probably not a coincidence, as the Vans SK8-HI Womens debuted the same year Independent opened for business (though had they dropped it last year, it would have coincided with both 35th anniversaries).
As it turns out, there are even more pairs from the Taka Hayashi x Vans Vault Spring 2014 collection than initially assumed. The Vans SK8-HI Mens from Mr. Hayashi for the Spring have suddenly doubled in numbers at the reveal of these monkey-print pairs. The two shown here sort of break away from the native-looking patterns of the rest of the set with a more cartoony approach to the graphics.
